Hope you had a good week.

Here are a few ideas I would like to share with you on how to be involved and stay involved in your child’s everyday life.

·       *  Ask your child what they learned in school that day.

·        *     Emphasize the importance of homework.

·        *    Read to and with your child daily, and asking       questions about what is being read.

·        *   Praise your child’s efforts.

·     *  Take your child to places and talk about the visits.

·     *  Share responsibilities at home.

·     *  Love and treasure every minute together.

We had another busy week at school. The students are all eager to learn and participate in classroom activities. Overall, I am filled with pride when I see just how well the students learn and act.

Literacy: We are learning about different sentences. This week we focused on “Telling sentences” and “Questions”. They learned how to punctuate telling sentences and questions. The students got to read the GET SET STORY, A Big Hit. They focused on short “i” words : sit, hit, big, pig, wig, and High Frequency words: a, have, who, to, find.

Math:  Problem Solving: The students acted out numbers to solve problems. We started our new topic which covers making numbers 6, 7, 8.

Science:  Sorting Plants. Students have learned how plants can be grouped.

Social Studies:  Students discussed the roles and responsibilities of leaders and The Government.

Art:  Leaf Art. Students used poster paint to trace different sizes of leaves. They also painted some leaves to add some color to their art work.
