Dear Parents,

Halloween is approaching and we are getting excited about joining the “ Fancy Dress Day” at HIS. The students are going to have a short performance, where they will sing and dance to a Halloween Song. It is always fun for the children to get the opportunity to do something different and to dress up!

This is what we have been doing this past week:

Literacy:  Stories: Quit it Bug & A Surprise for Zig Bug. The students were able to read the stories together and respond to both stories by answering the response questions orally.
In Phonics, we covered the short “u” words like, bug, jug, mug, mud, hut, tug, sun. In Grammar this week we have learned about Nouns. The students are able to identify that nouns name people, animals, things and places.

Math:  The students did a Math quiz on addition and subtraction. We have started our new topic on Numbers on a Ten Frame.

Science:  Chapter 2 Animals: The students have learned about the different body parts animals use to help them stay safe. We have learned new vocabulary like, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.

Social Studies:  We have learned all about Maps, and Finding Where We Are? The students got familiar with terms like, state, border, location, and country.

Art: ( Halloween decorations)  We made skeletons with black and white construction paper, and created the skeletons with “ ear buds”.

What  a great week we had! Please continue reading at home. Thank you for your continuous support.  Have a wonderful weekend, and enjoy every minute with your children.
